If you’re looking for drum lessons that are both fun and effective, look no further than booking a course with me, Chris Phillips. With my unique teaching approach, I aim to make learning how to play the drums an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all ages and skill levels.
In 2021, I was shortlisted for a Wiltshire Inclusive Music Award, highlighting my commitment to providing high-quality music education that is accessible to all. With my passion for teaching and dedication to my students, I strive to inspire a lifelong love for percussion instruments in every lesson.
As an accomplished session drummer with years of experience playing in live settings, I understand the importance of building confidence and developing practical skills alongside music theory. My approach is to combine technical instruction with practical advice and tricks of the trade to help students improve their drumming while having fun and enjoying the learning process.
I offer both one-to-one drum lessons and online lessons via Skype or Zoom, to accommodate busy schedules or remote learning. Lessons can be either 30 minutes or 1 hour long, depending on your preference and skill level.

I also offer lessons to support your drum grades syllabus for two different music examination boards – Rockschool and Trinity. These qualifications allow students to progress in a structured and recognised manner, gaining valuable experience and knowledge along the way.
Rockschool is a popular music examination board that provides tailor-made qualifications for contemporary musicians. They offer graded exams ranging from introductory levels to advanced study, rewarding hard work regardless of age or previous musical experience.
The Rockschool qualifications not only enhance playing ability but also expand technical proficiency and provide a solid grasp of music theory. Students get the opportunity to learn and play some of the most iconic tracks from the world of popular music.
In addition to Rockschool, I also offer support for Trinity’s regulated qualifications. The Trinity exams have the same academic rigour as the face-to-face exams, and candidates gain full recognition for their achievements, with the same certificate and UCAS points awarded as for the face-to-face exams. The Trinity qualifications are available for classical, jazz, and Rock & Pop graded exams, as well as for ATCL and LTCL music performance diplomas.
In addition to individual drum lessons, I also offer band consultation services to help aspiring (and established) musicians get their projects off the ground. With my experience in the music industry, I can provide advice and support on a range of topics, from songwriting and arranging to live performance and marketing. Please contact me to discuss your needs.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced drummer looking to improve your skills, I can help. Book your drum lessons today and start your journey to becoming a better drummer and established musician.
